• Hey I have a working Login/out thing on my sidebar, but I want to find something so that it enables login/out without going to WP default login page and dashboard.

  • Why don’t you just remove it from the sidebar, and then just go to the login URL?

    Hi doodlebee, thanks for the response, can you elaborate a little bit, I am a newbie in this whole webpage thing.

    If I remove it from the sidebar, where would i put it?

    What login URL are you talking about?

    just remove the meta stuff from the sidebar. When you want to log in, just put in the login URL into the address bar.

    Or are you asking if you can log in and get to a page other than the dashboard after you’re accepted?

    No, what I mean is….

    I have set up a login/pw/register thing in my sidebar…check it out at https://www.sternshowclips.com

    When someone (not myself) wants to register, they click on the register link…this brings them to a default wordpress register screen, then once they get their password in the email…they can sign in, which brings them to the dashboard where they can edit their profile…i would rather them go to another type of page rather than the default WP pages..

    Any tips?

    Just go into your wp-login.php file and find the line that says

    $redirect_to = 'wp-admin/';

    under the case ‘login’

    And replace wp-admin with index.php or where ever you want to redirect to.

    hmnikatz,

    Are you looking for something like this, check this post out.

    Thanks Archard,

    You just solved my problem too ??

    Regards The dude
