Hello, I have an issue similar to this one that the logo I set in Site Identity doesn’t show up. Using the Pique theme with static front page and anchor menu.
I am able to select an image file as logo from the media library, but once I publish it or even when I refresh the preview, it disappears. It still displays the file in the Customization > Site Identity section, but not on the website. There is a slightly larger space above the menu, which makes me think that it’s still there but just doesn’t show the image. I tried with different images but to no avail.
Also changed the home page to a new empty page, in which case I could set the logo again, and it showed up in the preview again but disappeared again upon publishing.
Any help how to fix this much appreciated.

(On a side note, while previewing, i.e., before publishing, I also still experience the bug that has been reported here, that the logo changes size … in my case it flickers and becomes super small. So clearly something else wrong with the logo as well.)

  • Do you want to go ahead and download the WordPress.com version to see if that helps the logo size? Scroll down on this page to find it:

Also, do you mean the logo actually disappears, or that it scrolls offscreen when you scroll down?

The logo actually disappears. I do want it to scroll offscreen when scrolling, just as it is shown on the demo page (so the solution from the other thread wouldn’t work). The problem is that it disappears from the front page once I reload the preview (without any scrolling) and when I publish the site it’s also no longer there. So it seems like it might be a bug.

I’ll download the one from the link you provided and will report back. Are these two different versions?

OK, I downloaded and installed the version from WordPress.com (version 1.4.10) but unfortunately the exact same behavior. Any further ideas what I might try?

Hmm, would you be willing to add a logo to your site so we can have a closer look?

I added it back once more now, and I also kept the box with “display site title and tagline” checked, so now it *should* display both but doesn’t. Thanks so much for helping out with this!

    The logo actually disappears.

Just to clarify, it never appears in the first place on the site, or it actually disappears on the page after you’ve added it? I currently don’t see a logo at all on your site, and on my test site, I see a logo that does not disappear.

What file are you using for your logo, and are there any plugins or code changes that could be interfering?

I believe it’s never added. It only appears in the preview to the right of the customizer when I add it and then as soon as I either refresh the preview or publish the page it’s not there anymore.

    Here’s the steps I’m doing:
First, I choose a home page (under “Home Page Settings”).
Then I go to Site Identity and add a logo (it’s a png file but I’ve tried with multiple different images, including some of the default images on the site and all files behave the same).
The logo now shows up on my preview.

Then I click publish and go to a different browser window to look at the site as it is live and there’s no logo there (also tried multiple browsers). Same on tablet or phone.

Even in the customizer, as soon as I reload the page (with the logo) the logo disappears.

Can you make sure you’re not saving a draft in the customizer? There is an option for that; you’ll want to publish instead.

I haven’t modified any code directly.

The plugins that I have installed are Jetpack (which is recommended by the theme), Seedprod (for maintenance mode), and Advanced WordPress Backgrounds (not using it at the moment).

OK. My test site has Seedprod and Jetpack and that’s working fine. Do you want to try temporarily disabling the other plugin?

Also, what file are you trying to use for your logo?

Yeah, I’m not saving a draft. I’m publishing it right away.

OK, I have some news: It seems that it is an issue with a plugin.
I now deactivated all those plugins. That had the effect that now under “Site Identity” in the Customizer I don’t even have the option to add a logo anymore (it only displays “Site Title” and “Tagline” and “Site Icon”

I then activated Jetpack again and now the “Logo” option is there again (even with my old logo file in it) but again it doesn’t show on my site.

Any ideas how Jetpack might be interfering with the logo?

    Maybe it’s a Jetpack bug?

Oh! Just to be sure too, you’re not just adding this as Site Icon, right? It needs to be the logo and the icon.

The logo option for this theme comes from Jetpack.

No, I also have a site icon, and yes, the site icon works fine.

Oh, I see, so I do need Jetpack activated. So is there anything in the Jetpack settings that might cause this?
