• Hi There,
I’m just creating my first ever blog, using the Frontier theme, and cannot get my logo design to display on the header at the design size, it just expands to fill the entire width of the container, despite using their logo image tool.
I’ve uploaded a plain white oblong jpeg to the header itself, at the correct pixel size (1024×140), just in case the logo image was acting as a default display, but still no difference.
I also tried a cheat by designing the logo into the header background image, which then viewed as I wanted it to on the laptop, but displayed ridiculously small on Android.
I essentially want my logo image to display/sit on a PC pretty much as it does on the actual Frontier theme, which I’m hoping will then display well on a smart phone, assuming they use the logo image full-width in that scenario? https://ronangelo.com/frontier/
Many thanks in advance for any assistance,
    Stuart

  • Your logo image is huge, like ridiculously big.

resize that image so that in pixels, it is about 300px wide by however high it is, and then re-upload and it will be fine.

I’ve just played about with it and one you have done that, the logo will be perfect.

    Hopefully that helps Stuart

Bingo, and many thanks for that…school-boy error! I just need to redo it now to get the resolution (and design) right!

Could I push my luck for one more tip?

I set up the design template on my software at around 9.5cm x 3.5cm (plus a few extra decimal places), which equals 360x138px according to an online conversion calculator. I then saved it as a JPEG (and have since tried PNG), which gave me that massive file, which I have just re-sized with MS Paint.

What’s the best way to go about this process to achieve the best final resolution for the finished image of 360×138 pixels? The original images are high res.

Would you set up a larger scaled template, and THEN resize it, or would that have the same affect? I’m guessing that the more pixels I use, the bigger the image will display on the site?

I know this point is only tenuously linked to the original post, but any advice would be very much appreciated.

    MANY thanks,

    Stuart

Ideally, you would use an SVG file to avoid the problems we face with loss of quality when compressing and resizing a JPEG.

I would set up a template to be the same size, and then scale that down.

Are you saying that you think the current logo is blurry/low quality?

    Many thanks, innuvo!

Yes, it looks of poor quality to me, the edges of the moon are not round, and the writing looks wiry.

If you want me to have a go at resizing it, put your original logo back up and I can then save it, downscale it.

It might just be that you’ve done it in paint, but if I rasterize it in photoshop it might not happen.

If you’d rather do this yourself, that is of course fine, as well.

That’s extremely generous of you, but I’m going to have a little play around with the design first. It would be great if I could come back to you on this, though?
It’s an extraordinary kind gesture, thank-you!
    Very best regards,
    Stuart
