logo not showing after changing in child theme

since adding my child theme I made an amendment to my logo. I uploaded a new file using “customize’it!’ and the logo area was replaces by a broken image link icon. I then activated the parent theme and did the same to no avail.

I have re uploaded clean versions of the parent and child from my local and even checked the permissions – please advice I am at a loss here!!
