Logout does not clear Chrome or Firefox cookies

Also, is this issue specific to Windows or it happens on Mac as well?

Windows is all I can test atm. But it does also happen on Edge now. Other users are reporting the same issue

All you need to reproduce the problem is login then logout again and then the same login (or any other valid or not) will return Request Failed

Thanks for the additional info, I can see the issue issue on your installation but I’m afraid that I can’t replicate it on my test site.
Your site is throwing 403 error on AJAX request and that’s not shown on my site.

Can you test this with default WP theme and your other plugins disabled?

Also, can you check with your host if there’s anything in server logs that blocks AJAX requests?

It happens with twentyseventeen too and yes all but Membership 2 plugins disabled. I use plenty of Ajax stuff afaik – I’m on my own vps fwiw and looking at the logs there’s nothing in PHP7.0 error log, nor in my apache error log.

Where do you see the ajax error? I cant see it in the web console. Wouldn’t a 403 be a screen with info? Below is the server error log if it helps

Logging out using M2 logout or the admin bar logout then logging back in M2 generates this error “POST https://cle-france.bell-computing.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?ms_ajax=1 403 (Forbidden)”.

Normal WPAdmin login does not but then its not logging into M2.

I have tested with only M2 active in twentysixteen and I can say that this error ONLY occurs on attempting an M2 login. Chrome, Firefox and Opera all fail. Edge and IE11 do not manifest the problem. I am due to launch this site at the end of the month so this is urgent.

The question is… is this likely to ever be fixed since you cannot reproduce it? My choices are to wait and see, or to have wasted 3 weeks and try another membership approach?

I’m sorry for the delay on our side – did you change something on your site since your last post? I’m testing it in Chrome and I’m not able to replicate issue. I can login each time after logout and there is no errors 403 in browser console.

Please use this new “clean” site to test any possible fixes you may try.THIS site has the problem on ALL Windows browsers including Edge (yet cle-france.com still works ok on edge).

I know you are working on this but I have to launch and I cannot ask my users to keep clearing cookies or only use edge so cle-france will only be on M2 when you fix this problem. imt please use https://charente-limousine-exchange.bell-computing.com to test

I hadn’t included that in my new ssl certificate. Try https://en.bell-computing.com/ its untidy but logging in twice still produces the ajax error second and subsequent login attempts. Unless cookies are cleared.

I hope someone is still working on this, because I’m having the same problem now on a site that’s been using Membership 2 without this problem for a couple years. By the way, rolling all the way back to version 4.0.0.7 doesn’t fix it.

We’re still looking into this but we’re unable to replicate the issue no matter what I try, and if going back so many versions doesn’t fix the issue it’s most likely not caused by any of the updates in the plugin.

Could you check the server logs and see if there’s any info in there that could tell us more about what’s happening here?

Using https://en.bell-computing.com, I login as aardvark pass:kravdraa. First time it logs in but still says protected content and asks to log in again (this is a test site just to reproduce this problem remember!) Logging in again demonstrates the problem… it then says “request fails”. Can you not reproduce this? It happens in all windows browsers.

I can see the issue on your installation but I tested couple of my own test installations and neither of them are having this issue so it’s hard to pinpoint the exact cause of the issue.

Can you tell me which add-ons you have active on your installation?

Also, can you tell me if you can see the same issue if you try to login with test/test username and password on this site: org.dubajicp.com
