• When writing a post in wordpress 2.0, I sometimes get long lines without word wrapping. The lines overflows and creates a long horizontal scrollbar.

It appears to me that wordpress thinks the whole line is one word, with no spaces. If I double click on a word, it’s supposed to select only that word. However, if I click on a word in the long line, many words get selected.

How can I force my posts to wrap nicely?

  • word wrap plugin stopped the non-wrapping also removed the distortion in the IE but the sentences are formed with lot of spaces in between. in 2 such places | is appearing. somebody please help.

    Spaces are due to the
text-align: justify; in your stylesheet. Remove it.
For the | – edit your post.

Hmm, mine still looks a little dodgey :/

rudolf45 thanks for all the help you provided.

I live in India so it was around 0130am when i amde the post replied to yours. at some point i ran out of gas ?? and slept in front of the chair.

i just now reached back after my office work.

    thanks for your help.

just one question: is the “justify” in text-align is default in style sheet? why so?

It is not “default”. It is up to the theme designer/author how they want to display the text. Remember: every theme has a different stylesheet and all the display/look issues are defined in the style.css.

    thanks rudolf45
