First off, thank you for developing this and your many other plugin’s, I for one sincerely appreciate your contributions to the WP community.

Just wondering if there are two things that might be possible and if so I’d be more than happy to buy you some beer and pizza!

    1st Issue:
I have a seriously long “My Sites” menu which I cannot scroll through since it drops down below my monitor screen ??

I have tried several solutions to make it ‘scrollable’ but each solution blocks/hides the menupop submenus for each site…

    Second Issue:
I run a multi-network, network of multi-sites; meaning I have dozens of TLD’s each with their own set of subsites so as I add subsites to various TLD’s, some masked and some just as subsites, they get all jumbled up and since I can’s scroll down the entire list I have to go to the network dashboard of each TLD > Sites – and then find the site I want to work on.

Can you think of a way to sort the sites by their TLD? I know this would most likely be quite a feat since you will need to sort them by their original TLD (Site ID) and not their ‘mapped domain name’ (Blog ID). Although you might have them filtered first by (Site ID) with a second filter that is either alphabetical by their assigned (Blog ID).

I’m sure I could figure this out given lots of time and research but I don’t even know where to start to make sure it’s assigned to the proper list…

    Thoughts?!

Hi and thank you for your great feedback!

    For 1st issue:
I can fully understand this problem, but as you already experienced making it scrollable wouldn’t be a solution. In my opinion this has to do with the CSS and the overall concept/structure of the current Toolbar – which is limited.

I have not played with such thing yet, but my idea would rather be to tackle this issue differently in offering some sub groups and adding a certain amount of sites to each sub group.
    Something like this:

    My Sites
    – A-E –> List sites with those starting letters
    – F-K –> same…
    – L-Q –> same…
    – R-Z –> same…

But that would also work only for a certain amount of sites overall, even if the letter ranges have fewer letters each.

About how many sites are we talking here overall in your case?

    ——

    For 2nd issue:

The sorting itself should be possible if the TLD, URL and all the other data is in the object of sites (of a network). So if we have that data, the sorting should be possible, technically of course.

    ——

    Additional notes:
This plugin here, “Multisite Toolbar Additions”, is somehow in “maintenance mode”, I will maintain it but not add any bigger features or restructure or anything.
However, “Toolbar Extras”, my newest flagship plugin since 2018 is the real successor of Multisite Toolbar Additions, it is already Multisite compatible. But for Multisite and Multi-Networks I am currently developing an add-on which will make the Toolbar and the admin for Multisite more useful. This would be the perfect place to add such features.
I can give no release date or anything yet, other than maybe late 2019 or later in 2020…

However, I might be playing/experimenting in the next few months with the stuff of your issues and see what I can come up with – even as snippets for you. But I can not give a guarantee yet.

    Thanks, Dave ??

There is this plugin which can list all sites in Multisite Network alpabetically sorted by letter:
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/multisite-admin-bar-switcher/

    This would be a solution.

Since I cannot make a promise if and/or when I would consider such feature requests for my plugins/add-ons I now mark this thread here as resolved for now to keep things organized.
