Long Response Time on Huge Lists

    First this issue – I tried hard to donate to you with my credit card — PayPal wouldn’t let me do it without setting up an account. I already have an account, but that part of your donation form wouldn’t let me do it from my credit card. Just a head’s up — I’ve tried 3 times.

    My question — on my nonprofit organization site, we have a list of 600+ supporters and it takes many seconds for a response when working on a table. On our list of 2,500+, the wait is about 75 seconds just to click a box or write a word. Is there a way to speed this up? I really like TablePress and want to keep using it — just hard to use with ridiculously long lists. It works great on shorter lists.

    thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

    Yeah, the experience of editing large tables is bad at the moment, I agree ??
    But there are good news: I’m already working on a redesigned “Edit” screen that will work much better and faster with large tables. Unfortunately, as this is not trivial, and as I’m very busy at the moment, this will still take some time.

    Meanwhile, the best workaround is to maintain the table data e.g. in Excel, and after making changes, re-import the table into TablePress from a CSV file that you saved in Excel.

    Regarding PayPal: That’s really strange. I have no idea what PayPal is doing there. ?? Regardless, thanks for wanting to donate, I really appreciate the good will and gesture!

    If you come up with the new edit screen, that will be a big help. I don’t have to deal with the big tables that often – maybe your new, faster screen will work by then. Meantime, TablePress is very impressive, very helpful.

    I really appreciate the work you’ve done. I’ll try again to make a donation – you deserve that appreciation. too.
