Long URLs

  • Hi, it would be useful to configure max. URL length allowed by the system tweaks, was hit by 255 (hardcoded) limit today, being at actually ~360 characters. So had to disable this option at all, whereas I’d like to use it but with larger setting.

    Having said that, this feature is a lot less effective when the number is high. Is there nothing you can do to shorten URLs? It’s good for SEO too.

    You are right but certain themes/plugins generate long taxonomies etc. and manual tweaking of those is really too much to handle. Hence the option to increase max URL option without modifying code would be extremely useful

    Some plugins provide options for slugs. Maybe you can share the specifics, at least to get a workaround.
