Long waiting time for the plugin to load

    Hello Mateusz,

    Have you tested the plugin with a lot of images in the main “upload” folder? I have about 70k images in it (without any additional hierarchy with dates).

    I have a situation where each tab of your plugin takes more than one minute to load. On a mid-range VPS server. I haven’t analyzed the plugin code, but there seems to be something wrong. The rest of the site works fine.

    PS. On this page I have all ports blocked (443, 80) to external traffic. This may also have an effect, but only you know the plugin code.

    Thank you for your message.

    In the plugin settings panel, the operation of plugin redirections is checked. This is done using the cURL function. The lock you mentioned probably causes a timeout after 10 seconds, because this is the time limit for executing the cURL script. Several such tests are performed and therefore the loading time of the plugin settings page is longer.

    Could you send me a screenshot of the Help Center tab in the plugin’s settings? I will check it because in this tab I have information about the status of your website.

    I checked and confirm. Blocking port 443 causes this problem. I’m testing your plugin on the development version of the website, which is why I’m blocking ports. Apart from this inconvenience, the converting proces runs smoothly.

    I also recommend you to try the AVIF format on your website. However, you will need open ports to the outside – otherwise it won’t work. Images converted to the AVIF format on your website will weigh about 50% less than images converted to WebP only, maintaining even better image quality. This will further improve the performance of your website.

    It was fine, you told it like it is. I can argue about some solutions. I find it unnecessary to store WEBP while using AVIF (only for MS Edge?). And forcing it on users is certainly not what I agree with.

    It’s good that a solution like yours exists, but I don’t know if I’m a bigger fan of on-the-fly generation via a CDN like CloudFlare (with PRO plan) or Optimole. But there is no one best solution for everyone.

    Your plugin definitely works better than generating .webp via QUIC.CLOUD ??

    Generally, in the plugin settings you can disable the WebP format and only use AVIF.
