• Started my first blog and hope to see it grow over time. It’s a video game news, reviews, and random game related articles site. Sit Sam Video Game Resource. I am having problems keeping people coming back to the site and building a community. Nobody seems to leave any comments, the few comments I have are from specific friends. Just wondering if I need more patience or if there is something I should do to change the site.

Thanks for the feedback in advance.

    Bryan

  • You can use Social Media Channels for promotion of your articles. I think you can use Facebook and Twitter mostly. In my opinion, use Twitter, you can get better web traffic from twitter.

I think it looks really cool!

The one thing I would consider is that it’s a bit hard to tell where your actual content is at first–you have three really large/populated columns and it took me a minute to figure out where my attention should be focused, you know?

Yeah, it does look great! I would suggest limiting the amount of pictures you use though. From a sales psychology perspective, people tend to be more attracted to pictures than text. It’s possible that a lot of your visitors are getting distracted and can’t really focus on what you’re SAYING as opposed to what pictures they’re SEEING. Try making the images a little smaller and increasing the text size. I would also make the content column a little wider so that visitors know that this is the main focus of the page. As SimplyMother suggested, it is hard to tell where the content is at first because all of the columns are similar in width. The advantage of using WordPress is that you can activate a different layout without losing your posts. Try finding a layout that is a little more visitor friendly, like this one: Gemini Star Signs. Hope this helps.
