• I apologize for the obscenely long post title, but I wanted to make sure that those coming to this thread wouldn’t automatically refer me to the uber-popular 3 column kubrick theme at LiewCF.com:

3 Column Kubrick, content, sidebar, sidebar

While his theme is fantastic, I’m looking for a kubrick theme with the sidebars on both the left and right sides, with the content in the middle. I’m running WordPress 2.0.1 and I have been toying around with the wp-Andreas09 theme (it’s a great 3 column theme), but it isn’t as easy to customize as the Kubrick theme was, so I’m hoping to find a 3 column version to modify. OR, if no one knows of a 3 column Kubrick theme with the sidebar, content, sidebar layout, could you direct me to some resource where I could figure out the CSS needed to create my own 3 column Kubrick? I’m a CSS newbie with limited abilities so modifying isn’t too much of a problem, but actual creation is still just beyond my ability. I could copy the current sidebar and rename it left-sidebar, giving me the two sidebar files needed, but I’m not sure how to go about incorporating both into the template.

    Any thoughts?

  • If you do a search here, I’ve seen the same question about moving the content to the middle.

Sorry, I just realized that I posted this in the wrong area. I meant to put it in THeme, but accidently put it in INstallation. I have done a search here on the SUpport Forums, but haven’t yet found anything that has helped. Perhaps my searching skills are poor, but I copied this thread over in the Theme area, so hopefully I’ll find something there.

After some searching I have found 3 column Kubrick themes on the forum, but I posted this because all of them are content, sidebar, sidebar. I want the content in the middle ??

    Here’s a link – https://www.ads-software.com/tags/3-column.
The better way to search is to use Google. I believe if you put site: https://www.ads-software.com/support/, followed by what you are looking for, that will help you.

Thanks MOshu. As I said earlier I realized I had it in the wrong place, but there’s no function to delete a post once it’s made. As helpful as the support forums are, I think they still need a bit of work simplifying how to post and where to post correctly.

But I digress; I’ve searched with Google, and other search engines as Google is limited. They all point towards the LiewCF.com version or some other modified content, sidebar, sidebar theme. I’m posting here because I’m hoping someone had the knowledge to possibly convert the 2 column Kubrick to a 3 column sidebar, content, sidebar since I haven’t been able to find it “in the wild” on the net.

I don’t remember a 3 column K in the way you’d like it. That theme is not really set up to be “converted” it into a 3-column theme.

Mmmmmm, that’s a bit unfortunate. I’ll let this post hover here and see if it picks up any more replies, but I’ll also start toying around with Andreas09 to see if I can get it to do what I want. As I said before, any resources on manipulating CSS to create sidebars would be greatly appreciated. If I can figure out how to create my own, that might solve my problem, provided it’s not too difficult.

    1. Creating an additional sidebar is not only a CSS issue. Basically you should re-design the theme.
    2. If you want a 3-column, why not choose one that is pretty close to what you want (there are more than 400 out there) and modify it to your liking. It would be much-much easier than re-designing a 2-col into a 3-col!
Tons of good info in the Codex; Blog_Design_and_Layout.

    3. And the link to the themes: https://themes.wordpress.net/

Thanks for the resources Moshu, I’ll go ahead and give them a read in the next week and see what I can find.
