Looking for a Image Editing Plugin?

I get alot of hi-res images and i really dont like to use them in my posts. Does anyone know of a plugin (maybe AJAX based) that will allow me to scale down an image and possibly crop it? Tall order, I know.. But ive seen it done, just not with word press. If not, maybe ill attempt to write my own. Thank you!
