Membership plugins

    Hi

    We recently developed a new site for [ redundant link removed ] and are now starting to think about phase 2.

    The site is a member of the National u3a in the UK. We have in the region of 1,400 members, who renew annually. Members form activity groups, some of which have limited numbers and some of which organise events for which payment is required (eg coach trips).

    We need a system which will allow a paid up member to join one or more activity groups and to join & pay for chargable events. Obviously around this core functionality we need all the admin of group size limits, waiting lists, emailing members of groups and/or events, tracking payments, etc.

    We are currently using Mailpoet and Ultimate Member, though membership is limited to admins at the moment. We use Events Made Easy for all of our events, but are prepared to introduce a different event calendar if necessary.

    I would be interested to hear from anybody who has set up something similar (or the same). What plugins did you end up using and what are the pitfalls for which we should look out?
