    My friend downloaded thw wordpress file and he is telling me he cant do the data base due to a missing file.

  • WordPress isn’t a file. The download is an archive that contains thousands of file in a very specific folder structure. I’m not sure that your friend knows what he is talking about. Perhaps he (or you) should read Installing_WordPress.

    Sorry for the word mixup, he has the folder with all the files but he ia talking about a data base script.

    What database script? There isn’t one in WordPress. You have to create an empty database and a database user yourself using whatever tools your host has available. Please see the page I linked to above.
