Looking for a Variation Swatch Plugin but with the product image as the swatch

    Hi All,

    I want to simplify the browsing of variations on my site.

    Rather than having the visitor select from a huge bank of attributes, I would like them to be able to click through a carousel of swatches that are the actual product images.

    I would still like the products to be searchable by their attributes but on the actual product page, I’d want their choice to be chunky image swatches of the products themselves.

    I am aware that the variation swatches plugin will do this for individual attributes, but I want something that has this functionality but with swatches of the actual variations themselves, without the products actually losing their attributes.

    (Basically, hiding the attributes from the user, presenting the user with a much more simple visual way of choosing, and the attributes are still there to be searched on product archive pages.

    Hoping someone has a plugin they could recommend for this.

    Hello there,
    You can do this with Variation Swatches and Photos. This extension will simply allow you to upload images or color swatches to replace the attributes on the product page.

    It will not affect the attributes on the shop page which can still be used for filter as usual.

    You might need some custom CSS depending on how you want the swatch image to look, if how it shows by default is not good for you.

    This plugin looks similar to one I have tried. The problem I would have with this plugin, is at the moment I have a bank of 8 attributes. I want to keep these attributes in the back-end and for search / filtering. But on the product page I want to replace the 8 choices, with just one single swatch-like image of the product.

    The products have 8 attributes, but they are visibly easy to distinguish between the products. Basically, on a product page I want to scrap the 8 choices, replace these with one image for each variation, but for the purpose of filtering and searching on a shop or archive, I would like to keep these attributes.

    Can you recommend a plugin that would do this please?

    Thanks for the clarification. Based on your message, I still see that the above-suggested plugin seems to meet your goals. It’ll help you to visually display your attributes on the single product page. The text attributes for the product will still exist and can be used for search/filtering.
