Looking for best image gallery (image attached)

  • I am trying to find an image gallery plugin for a couple portfolio websites that I am working on. I want to be able to display thumbnails in a couple different sizes — Here is my PSD of the image gallery area — on hover I want either a text or image overlay/description. Toward the top I have different menu items that would change the different images.

    My question is how can I best accomplish this? I was building this particular site on the Genesis Framework with Nextgen Pro but I can not seem to get the desired effect. (Without hacking at the plugin).

    Am I best off to build this without the Genesis Framework and handcode the plugin to work the way I want? Or does anyone know of one that works similar to this that is reliable and quick to load (as quick as an image gallery can be). This needs to be responsive and support full width.

  • Hi Kevin,
    Have you worked it out? In case you haven’t, be the special fancy pro sliders’ effects not too essential you could hook into the native wp gallery and just make a bit of changes, no need for a plugin, especially if you want it to load fast
