• Hi all-

Just started looking into WordPress, and there is a certain functionality I’ve seen – the challenge is, I don’t know what it’s called. (If I did know… which I hope to soon… I’ll do my homework.)

Basically, I’d like to be able to define:

    1) A list of 10 colors
    2) A list of 5 shapes
    3) A set of 5 logos

I’d like to be able to select multiple checkboxes when a post is created, and have images or words appear with the posts to identify “product features”.

E.g., Next to a picture of a designer bowl, I’d like to let people know it’s available in Red and Teal, in Square and Round, and choose the series logo and maybe “made in USA” and “Lead Free” icons.

I’ve searched, but think the search terms are so generic it’s always ending up with too much that isn’t what I’m looking for ??

    Any help appreciated!

  • As you seem to be looking at creating an online shop, I’d suggest you have a look at some of the ecommerce plugins and the product option functionality that they offer.

    Hi esmi!

    Thanks for the note.

I have indeed looked quite bit at different “catalog” purpose layouts – However, I’d still like to know what that particular function is called.

FYI I’m not thinking specifically about an e-commerce platform, but rather a “product showcase”. Pricing does not need to be available or shown.

That said, I would consider a module that provides that functionality if it were able to handle the (whatever it’s called that I’m looking for) to the level I’d like.

    cheers

I don’t think it has a definitive name. Try looking for “product options” or “option sets”.

Pricing does not need to be available or shown

And some ecommerce plugin have just that capability.
