Looking for Contributors guide to wordpress

I’ve been searching for a guide for non-admin use of wordpress. I’m sure many have put together wordpress sites for others. Surprised there aren’t hundreds of blog posts on how to use wordpress as a contributor!

I realize that the contributor role can be managed to mean different things, but a basic out of th box guide to how things work would save me answering a lot of questions.

Maybe I can cut and paste some info together, but maybe someone else has already done this?
