• I’m new at this and helping a friend start a website who is even less experienced than me. I’ve read that if you don’t find the perfect theme you need to set up a parent-child so you don’t have problems in the future. So, before I try to tackle that, I would love to find a perfect theme. Free, of course, would be great. Easy and reliable would be great for handing it over to her. I was thinking about Responsive, and recently tried it on another site and it went wonky when I updated. I still haven’t figured out how to fix it. Any theme suggestions? It’s for an organization about trauma healing with info, forums, blogs, events, podcasts, video.
    Thanks!

  • There is no such thing as a perfect theme ?? … and creating a child theme simply allows you to make changes without losing them when the theme is updated. It’s ALWAYS a good idea to do that upfront as doing it later is much more work.

Look at the many themes here:

You can see feedback by looking at the theme reviews page for the theme and/or the support tab – see what people have said and how well the developer supports the theme.
