• Hi this is probably a long shot… I have installed a template from smartthemes. It uses the symple shortcode plug in. The plug in is really integrated into the theme’s functionality so i need it, but it won’t install properly. I noticed it hasn’t been updated in a while. I’ve deactivated / deleted re-installed but the short code dropdown button icon doesn’t show up in the text editor. However the tags do work. I found the basic tags in the theme documentation but can’t find a list of all the short code tags for love nor money. Does anyone have a list of the tags or know where I could find them without digging through php?
    thanks

  • I am having the same problem. I have WP 3.9.1 and have downloaded Symple 1.6 from the developer’s website, but the button still does not show in my page editor.

    Before installing 1.6 I uninstalled 1.4.

I have the Gist Github Shortcode plugin, and that button does appear correctly. Deactiviating the Gist plugin did not fix the Symple problem either.

There doesn’t seem to be a list of the short codes anywhere. Best I have come up with is this: https://wpexplorer-demos.com/symple-shortcodes/inserting-shortcodes/ which shows some of the parameters.

cheers that would have worked, but I ended up installing the Shortcodes Ultimate plug in. Even though the tags are different it works fine with the theme that I’m using. The theme runs on bootstrap so I guess the css is clean enough to work with any standard short code tags. I’ve only used it to make columns, rows and headings in posts so far. I’m sure there is some functionality I’ll miss out on but its fine for most stuff.
