• Brand new to WordPress, coding is way too overwhelming, so I’m hoping to find something that matches the following criteria that I can use as is:

    -rustic/old look (like theme was created from parchment paper and ink, perhaps a ‘scrapbooky’ quality to it);
    -three columns;
    -adsense ready;
    -widget ready

    I can get the last three, of course, but I can’t find anything that has the right look.

    This one is pretty close, but isn’t adsense ready: https://www.infocreek.com/webdesign/aspire.html

    Thanks!

    Rae

  • Rae what do you mean by its not adsense ready? Are you saying its not widget friendly? I could show you how to make adsense work with the theme, also I do custom wordpress themes so if you are interested feel free to contact me at 5apart.com

    There are some themes where the Adsense coding is already in place and the user just needs to change the publisher ID. Examples: https://www.doshdosh.com/16-adsense-optimized-wordpress-themes-to-maximize-your-contextual-ad-earnings/

    I’d really like to avoid having to play around with coding or paying for a theme when there are so many nice free ones out there.

    Thanks,

    Rae

    Did you check the WordPress Theme Directory? There are hundreds of free themes there.
    Here are some from the directory that are adsense ready.

    All you have to do is to put keywords in the search field, or check the popular tags on the sidebar.

    Ok…I guess I see what your saying…you want a theme that makes the ads look pretty. As far as inserting adsense ads into your blog thats a snap…just goto the design tab>>widgets>>text>>copy and paste your code from adsense in the box and save.
