Looking to make a website similar to Monster.com

  • Is it possible to make a website similar to Monster.com using wordpress? I really just need the filtering system they use or something similar to it on my page so a user can filter search based on the criteria they click. So in other words, something similar to this page and how they use their filter:

    Yes you can create a JOB Portal like Monster.com with WordPress, also add functionality for indeed.com feed/api, careerjet.com api to display live results.

    But WordPress need lots of modifications.. you can find numbers of themes & plugins for start-up.

    Well I’m not really looking to make a JOB portal, I just need to make a filtering system like theirs. I am brand new to WordPress and the website design world but I know that in time I can make a good website. This may sound dumb, but I haven’t really started yet because I am afraid of buying a domain and hosting and then not being able to make the site. I don’t really have any money to pay someone to make the website that I am looking for so I figured that I would just make it myself.

    and what kind of modifications would it need?

    Project Plan documented (what you set, what you get)

    1. Custom Meta Values
    2. Custom Search form (by using wp_query and Meta Query)
    3. Custom Pages for Search Result

    Is that all I would really have to do in order to come up with a quality site with the filter I am looking for? And I would have to customize the pages?? I’m not sure if I understand?
