looks good but still getting spam subscribers

  • added mailchimp plug in to wordpress site expecting to have “real humans” requesting subscriptions. Instead we are still getting spammer sign ups, but now with emails filling the inbox. had to pull the plug-in down to stop traffic. still looking for a decent spam-less subscription sign up. mailchimp, so far isn’t it.

    Hi there.

    Glad you like the plugin. The bots signing-up do not have much to do with the plugin orwith MailChimp.

    If you want to stop all bot subscriptions, use the Captcha feature in the plugin and/or enable double opt-in.

    From the FAQ:

    How do I add a Captcha to my forms?
    Install the BWS Captcha plugin, then use [captcha] inside your form mark-up.

    If you find the above method stops bots from subscribing, I would really appreciate it if you could revisit your review. ??
