lookup email address

    I’m selling yearly membership which can either be for an existing member or a new member.

    So in the checkout after user enters email address I would like to look up their email address in wp_users and, if they don’t exist, gather additional information.

    I think probably the only way to do this is some ajax on the email address which then exposes hidden fields (if they don’t exist) and makes input mandatory.

    Just checking really that there’s isn’t a built in way of achieving what I need…

    Hi @spike210957,

    I can confirm there isn’t a built-in feature that would complete the validation and conditional logic you describe. Custom coding would indeed be needed in order to set that up on your website.

    I’ll leave this thread open for now, in case any other members of the community have any suggestions – otherwise, if no activity is seen within the next few days the thread will be closed ??
