Looping with nginx

  • Hi, thanks for this plugin.
    I have just registered our site w/ our IdP and things look good overall. But, I get into an infinite loop scenario when trying to log in using the ‘Login with Shibboleth’ link.

    Steps:

    1. Click the Login link, to browse to https://<site>/wp-login.php
    2. Click the Login with Shibboleth link, to browse to https://<site>/wp-login.php?action=shibboleth, which redirects to IdP.
    3. Authenticate w/ IdP successfully, redirect back to referring page, which is https://<site>/wp-login.php
    4. Goto 3

    I’m using nginx so there might be an nginx equivalent to an apache setting I need to do to handle this link specifically, where if the session is authenticated already, do not do the redirect, instead go to the main page.

    Any thoughts? This should be a quick one.
