• Hello There!

I would like to use the weaver 2 theme for an existing site. But I was wondering if I will lose my header with updates?

I am having the problem with another theme (it has happened twice)

I know that updates are critical (and I appreciate them so much (I am changing the theme due to abandonment!)
I just don’t want to lose the fundemental customizations.

    Thank you for your time!
    Mary

Only if you make modifications to the theme’s original files will you lose those modifications.

If you’re using a Child Theme or Custom CSS plugin for your modifications, your changes will not be lost.

Best place for Weaver support is here: https://forum.weavertheme.com

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly–that was really nice!

I did install one of you pretty child themes.

SO If I have a designer modify the files on the header (for size and title text) it will be safe?

I don’t mean to be thick, but this techie stuff is a lot to grasp.
    THANKS AGAIN!!!!! Mary

If you are using a Child Theme and do not modify any of the parent theme files, yes, you should be okay to update the theme.

For every file you want to modify, make sure you or the designer copies that file from the theme and into your Child Theme directory. Then you can modify that file within your Child Theme.
