Loses Function after updates

I used contact form 7 for quite a while. But everytime the plugin or wordpress updated, I had to perform a check of all my associated forms, because there have been a lot of issues with the wordpress sendmail component. It wasn’t adressed correctly, so I lost a lot of contact emails. I can’t rely on this plugin anymore, also it has a lot of functions
