    Hello,

First off, great plugin. It was exactly what I was looking for.

I’m having an issue when importing a CSV with decimal values. I try to import 1,000.00 and it gets converted to 0.00. The CSV file has a dollar sign and comma, could this be what is doing that? And if so, is there an easy way to hook into this to have it format the cell on import? A client will be using this to import CSV files and I dont to make them change their CSV formatting.

    Thanks
    Alex

    Good question!

Yes, it’s because of the dollar sign and comma that it’s not interpreting the value as a proper decimal number.

The tricky thing is how to solve this…

I shall have to investigate a bit, but off the top of my head unfortunately the easiest thing to do will be to change the spreadsheet formatting before import. Sorry!

But I’ll let you know if there is a better way.

It seems that it’s pretty hard to solve this for all the different varieties of currency input value (multiple languages, formats, etc.). Perhaps someday we’ll have a better import system that allows you to specify formats at import time (like LibreOffice etc. do), but it’s not coming this year I think. ?? Sorry!
