I have suddenly lost all my 62 categories from which I sort all the blogs on https://www.thissideofthecross.com/blog1

On the Dashboard it still shows I have 62 categories, but when I click through to the category page it shows I don’t have any, and all the blogs are coming up ‘uncategorised’.

The weird thing is that when I go to edit or quick edit any blog, it shows the categories and the correct categories for that blog ticked – but it will not recognise this when I update the blog entry.

Help!! I have over 4,000 people reading our blogs daily and all the links to these blogs don’t work – not good for us…

Thanks samboll for the tip but it didn’t work, neither did turning off plug-ins or any of the other ideas out there I found in the forum. It must have been some sort of server side problem because the whole site became unavailable at one time – I walked away from the computers thinking a hack had just done me. 10 min later I came back for another go and to contact the hosting service when everything was back on-line and the Categories were working again – all perfect…

The loss of categories and sudden recovery without intervention seems to have happened to a few people from reading the forum. It’s a little disturbing and I’m still clueless as to what is causing it – but guess it’s server-side and out of my control – I’ll just keep praying!

    Thanks
    Matt.
