    Hey there

We lost all the data which was put in to the plugin recently. No one knows when or why, but the attribute markups do not have any prices set any more.

Any known issues that can cause this? It is extremely important for us to avoid this in future.

We moved from one server to another using WP All in One Migration; normal export/import via .wpress file, should include all databases etc just as usually.

    Thanks,
    Steffen

I can set up and test a similar import / export using WP All-in-One WP Migration and see what happens.

The attribute markups are kept in the wp-termmeta table, with a meta_key containing ‘mt2mba_markup’. It could be that they were not exported, or not imported. Or, it could be more complex (for instance, the product meta_ids changed).

It will probably take me a couple of days to run through a few tests. Meanwhile, if you find something based on the information above, please let me know.

On a deeper look it appeared that a few markups were still there, some randomly missing. We can kind of be sure that it is no human error – but we are stuck with any other kind of explanation. I just do not think that the import export is responsible, since I assume this must cause all data to be lost?

Anyways, it is a bit odd and not enough information for a proper support request. We put in the markups again now and will have to one-by-one recalculate sales prices/regular prices.

Thanks for exploring this further. I have not been able to recreate the problem.

In your first email, you ask,

Any known issues that can cause this?

The short answer is no. Since I’ve never received any other mention of attributes losing their markups, since I’ve never experienced it myself, and since I’m not aware of how the code would allow it, the only explanation I have left is that they were lost in the server migration. This seems plausible to me since the attributes are kept on the wp_term table, and the markups are kept on the wp_termmeta table, linked by the term_id. If the term_ids changed while exporting or importing wp_term, that creates an opportunity to lose the association with the wp_termmeta table.

I don’t mean to be pointing my finger at the WP All-in-One migration tool. It seems highly rated and reliable. However, the database migration is the only unique circumstance I can see that might contribute to this problem.

Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.
