• I’ve never left a 1-star review on a plugin before, but i just used this two days ago, and today my site wasn’t loading ANY images. Across 200+ blog posts.

I noticed the image URLs with “-unsmushed” in the slug would still load if I enter the URL manually, but nothing else.

I had to restore my entire website back 3 days to fix this. It’s cost me hours of time and a lot of stress.

I don’t know what I did wrong. I’m sure this plugin works great for some people. But it was a disaster for me.

Maybe I was supposed to keep it installed forever? I uninstalled the plugin after optimizing my images, and then this happened 2 days later.

Anyway, total nightmare for me and I really wish I hadn’t done this.

    Hi Ronnie,

Sorry if you had a bad experience with reSmush.it.
At first sight, your image loss seems to be linked to another plugin your using on your website, such as a custom Image Library, or another theme (like Divi for example, that has caused issues in the past). The image loss seems not to be directly due to our plugin. If you use another plugin like WP Smush.it (which runs in the same way, you’ll be likely to have the same issues).

It would be very interesting for us to have your feedback like the plugins you’re using ou any special theme, to find out with you the real origin of the issue (and maybe let you consider the 1 star out of 5 you gave us ??

This doesn’t mean that these modules are made with very weak quality, but… only that they’re not compatible with the solution your website is running on ??

What’s more, like for any other plugin, NEVER try to install a module on your running website (when it’s live), and always try to install these plugins first in development environment.

Remind that we provide this service for Free, and we do our best to bring advanced technical solutions for optimizing pictures for the community, so that rating is our only award.

    Cheers,
    Charles
