• Hi
this is the second time this has happened. I started from scratch the first time but I would like to solve this issue without restarting again if possible.

I wanted to see if I could get a link to the site at the top of the page that went to the website. My blog is in a sub directory. (www.energyrings.com/blog.

I went to the GENERAL SETTINGS and changed WORDPRESS ADDRESS from https://www.energyrings.com/blog to
    https://www.energyrings.com/

When I clicked SAVE, the template in the admin area was gone.
I clicked BACK and changed teh settings back to what they were and saved again.

the admin template was still gone.
When I go to the template now, the Theme is gone as well.

When I try to login now I get 404 page not found and the address it goes to is https://www.energyrings.com/wp-login.php

    Can someone please help mne.
    Isidro

do you mean you want a link at top of blog to your site in the root or what?
do you want to move wordpress to root?
    I’m not understanding that.

I realize that’s not your exact situation but please read the article.

    Dear Samboll,
Thank you Thank you Thank you

The blog is back up and running. Now I can get in and edit through the admin again. Thanks

What I wanted to do was to have two links at the top navigation bar that make it clear that one is the BLOG HOME and the other is the WEBSITE HOME.

I don’t really want to change the location of the blog or anything like that.

Once again, I am very grateful for your help.

The only thing that is not working properly now is the comment rss feed.
when I subscribe to it as a bookmark, clicking on it gives me this:
Live bookmark feed failed to load.
clicking on this link gives me this:
The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded.
    Feed location property is
    https://energyrings.com/blog/?feed=comments-rss2
    Site location is
    https://energyrings.com/blog/?feed=comments-rss2

is there some other area to correct in order to have the comment show up?

The Entrees RSS is working fine.

    Thanks for your help
    Be well

change your comments rss link to use this
    https://energyrings.com/blog/?feed=comments-rss

I could not find the location of the link in order to change it.

But when I put that link on the address bar to test it, the page does come up and it lists the posts that have comments on them but the comment itself is not shown. Instead of showing the comment, it shows the text that goes with that post. Not the comment that goes with that post.

Can you help me with this?

Do you think it would be better if I do a re-install of the program and see if that takes care of the problem? I don’t want to go through that again but I would like for the comments to work properly.

Thanks much samboll for your info. I was able to get my site back up and running using the theme’s function.php method you linked to. Thank you.
