Lost Comments and the ability to leave comments

    So a little over a month ago all my comments vanished. I thought that by changing “Themes” that things would be back to normal. No luck.

    There are a few other issues but the lost comments or ability to leave comments ( 404 error page ) is the main issue.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress?

    Thanks for the help Theme Diva….

    I tried the de-activating thing. Didn’t work.
    Played around a bit with seeing if there was a “plugin” that would solve my problem. No Dice!!

    Since I’m really not all that techy… FTP and phpMyAdmin stuff is really something I should probably learn more of, but choose not to.

    Anyways, I repaired my data base with Yahoo Hostings handy dandy “Repair Data Base” feature. Brainless and worked like a charm.

    I’m good to go!!
