Thank for the update but I seem to have lost two useful features in the process:

1. I no longer see today’s numbers in the various views other than by viewing “Today”. My default was to show 30 days and the last day was always the current state of today. That was extremely useful. Now I have to select Today and then put it back to 30 days. Please give me a way to put this option back.

2. Correct me if I’m wrong but the data below the charts used to be limited to the period selected. If I selected 30 days it showed me data for 30 days. Now it’s showing data for all time (or am I just wrong on this). I know I used to find it helpful to see how referrers were changing as I’d test certain posts for reddit and others.

The reason behind all these is the number of queries. Instead of sending queries each hour or so, which will slow down a lot the admin’s dashboard, by doing these changes a huge number of queries are made only once a day!

Depending on the number of requests for these features, I will consider adding a new dashboard under Google Analytics menu, where all the charts will be updated when the time interval is switched.

Why not make that update frequency a user selectable option?

Because there are limits, you should read more about Google Analytics API.
