Lost Front Page Data [URGENT]

  • Hi,

    I lost my front page data – it shows Error- 404 but rest of the site and links work well.

    Even the posts that were recently published work but the front page shows no information.

    Please help.. its very urgent.

    Additional Info:

    I am running on WP2.8.5…

    I just replaced the “Index.php” from the backup but no help.

    Received this error in e-mail this morning…

    Those error messages are referencing Python scripts – which are not part of WordPress. Try contacting your hosts about it.

    I am in the process of contacting them too. Trying to zero down on the issue.

    When I see it in IE and FF it is showing fine… but Chrome shows me error!

    This is ultra strange… any suggestions before ruling WP out for the error.

    I did notice that you have a javascript error showing in IE. That could be coming from a plugin or your current theme.

    Did not add any new plugins or made any changes to my existing theme.. i’ve been using this theme since more than a year now.. never had a problem with it.

    You could have had the js error all that time and it’s not been causing any noticeable problems. It may have been fine in IE7 but errors in IE8. Either way, I couldn’t see anything obviously wrong with the page display in IE8.

    Based on the fact that a backup page template works and that the email error is referencing python (not PHP), I think that something outside of WP fell over. Possibly server-related.

    Esmi Thanks a TON for helping me out here…

    I got it resolved. There was a system backup what was setup which I was not aware of. The backup took all the server space which is why the recent backup didn’t go through, thus this error.

    I deleted the backups and made space on the server and things seem to work fine now..
