There is an incompatibility problem with your CAPTCHA plugin.
The lost password process, for some reason looking for captcha string.
Try to look around the plugin settings to unset the option for captch on lost password process.

I have no captcha plugin install, yet I am getting this error.
I installed https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/all-in-one-wp-security-and-firewall/ for some time ago, but than removed it and substitued it with another plugin. This one doesn’t use captcha at all, still I am getting this error.

Any idea?

Though I am receiving e-mail, just that error is also being displayed.

I get the same error when a new user register himself.

I assume that, again, the problem caused by plugins conflict.
Try to deactivate all plugins and activate one by one and check the issue.
