Can you confirm if your link in the email looks like this?

www.yoursite.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=url?action=rp&key=XXXXX&login=XXX

contains the fragment ?redirect_to=url. In some cases a 3rd party plugin can add this using wp_login_url(‘url’);, which results in an incorrect formatting of the url.

Make sure to replace mywebsitedomain with your domain such as example.com

Clear your browser cache first.

Make sure you have access to the email address used for the account.

the link in the mail is similar to:

If I try with

https://mysite/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

the original wordpress recovery page appears, but it seems inactive, because after sending link email, no mails arrive to destination.

From https://mysite/login/?action=lostpassword the mail is sent correctly.

The Login-logout plugin is installed, and woocommerce.

Any tips for changes to .htaccess?

.htaccess should not control your login – if it you believe it does, contact your host and ask them to rename the file (see below) – or using an FTP client or your Host provided File manager – simpy rename it.

Now, try to login again. If you can, set you permalinks again to same settings in use.

Once you have access, review what changed your site. It’s not www.ads-software.com
