Hi, do you receive any error messages? Can you confirm that e-mails are not landing in your spam box?

I did not receive an error message. I checked the spam folder and nothing is there. I also checked the wpam-log and there is nothing about sending reset password email.

Can you carry out a test for me. Can you change that e-mail to an e-mail from your domain? Another words can you change the e-mail to [email protected].

    Thank you

You want me to change the email associated with the affiliate to an email that is from the website?

The email in the General Tab of the plugin settings is already an email with the domain name. The email that was not received was a password reset email.

Is the password reset e-mail a gmail account? If it is can you change it to a domain e-mail account as per my instructions above.

What I am trying to test is if your server or website is having issues with gmail accounts but not with domain e-mail accounts.

I am still confused. Sorry ??

Where can I find the “password reset e-mail”?

Hi, in regards to your question.

You want me to change the email associated with the affiliate to an email that is from the website?

Yes if this is the affiliate you are trying to reset the password.

    Or

Are you resetting the password for the WordPress administrator?

    Thread Starter annamartindesigns

    (@annamartindesigns)

I have changed the email on the affiliate account to the email with the domain name (which is also the admin email for the website and the plugin). Email was not received. I checked log and there is nothing there about sending a forget password email.

Also, don’t see where I can change the password for an affiliate if they make that request, since this feature doesn’t work for them to change their own. Where is the password in the affiliate account info?

An email finally came to the domain email, requesting a password reset for username admin.

The affiliate username is not admin though.

@annamartindesigns, Lost password is a WordPress core feature. The plugin doesn’t have any control over where and how that email is being sent.

Even the registration email is sent by WordPress as well. But in that case affilaites manager logs some data since it tells WordPress to create the user.

What happens when you do a test registration? Do you receive any confirmation email as an affiliate?

    Thread Starter annamartindesigns

    (@annamartindesigns)

When tests are done to set up affiliate by admins (domain emails and gmail), everything works fine. Although, we have heard that some affiliates are not getting an email after their account has been approved by an admin. Maybe yahoo emails or aol.

I am using a SMTP plugin to send emails because we were have issues a couple weeks ago with not getting notification emails that an affiliate had signed up.

    What next?

I checked the lost password function. WordPress actually shows an error if the email couldn’t be sent by the system –

“The email could not be sent
Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function.”

    https://developer.www.ads-software.com/reference/functions/retrieve_password/

Once you click on the “Get New Password” button and the email is sent successfully without any error, WordPress shows this message:

“Check your email for the confirmation link.”

Are you getting this message? I tried it multiple times. And all the password reset emails arrived in my inbox.

When I tested it as an affiliate with a personal email and with a domain email, I did get the “Check your email for the confirmation link.”

But only the one using the domain email actually received the email.
