Recently, it was required that the thumbnails be regenerated on our site. I am unsure why this was required but there was an insistent note about it in the settings section. This was done. Now, all the PDF files no longer have the corresponding thumbnail file displayed. I have no idea what happened. Is there a way top resolve this and restore the link to the JPG file?

Imagemagick may be the solution but I can’t seem to get it to work. The plugin is installed and is active. The appropriate table entry has been set (Table IX-K7) to the path that ImageMagick suggests is the path. That would be ideal if it did work.

This is about missing “poster image files”.

Just want to give an update about the ImageMagick part of my comment. It works now.

However, all the PDF poster image files are missing (other than the newest ones just created by ImageMagick during the up0load process).

    Hi Gammonite,
Do I read this right? I gather you use the ImageMagick plugin on your site.
Can I ask if you also have ImageMagick running (as a service) on your server?
Or does the plugin do the job of providing poster image files all by itself without support from “the mothership”?
If so, that might be a great solution for all of us who don’t have the benefit of ImageMagick running on our servers.

    Cheers,
    serge

I am closing this thread. Not because the problem was resolved. I need to re-clarify the situation.

Serge: I don’t know if the server we have has ImageMagick running as a service or not. We have the ImageMagick plugin installed as a plugin. So maybe both. I have no idea. Regardless, it seems to do the job. Upload or Import a PDF and the first page magically is used as the poster image.
