• Hello. I was drafting posts using the virtue theme in Chrome on a Mac Book Pro. Everything was working great, but for some reason I now have a very early version of the post and I can’t find where to call up the saved drafts and retrieve the work I had done.

On the Post Edit page, there is no checkbox under Screen Settings for “show drafts,” so I’m confused on how to go about this.

Can someone help me find a solution?

    Thank you.
    Allen

    A gentle bump.

Where do I find the saved drafts for posts in Virtue?

    Allen

    Hey,
Just so it’s clear virtue doesn’t add or effect how wordpress saves drafts and revisions.

If you saved the posts then you should be able to recover a revision. While editing a post click “screen options” in the top right corner. Then make sure revisions are checked.

If you can’t see any then you have an issue with your server when you saved the post.

    Thank you for the response!

Under screen options, I don’t see a “revisions” checkbox.

However, another post does show revisions were saved and they’re on the page.

So, the problem is with this individual post.

You can check with your host about a backup but it sounds like your post was not saved. Could have even been a connection issue with your internet.

Ok. When I save the post now with solid internet connection, it still doesn’t show me any revisions. Neither in the “screen options” area or on the right sidebar where it shows revisions for my other posts.

    Any advice appreciated.

And I created a new post, made changes, watched it autosave, closed the browser, came back and all the drafts were there.

Scratch that – now I’m not seeing any revisions in new posts. Something has gone wrong, I think.

Any thoughts here? Very much appreciated.

Well trusting in wordpress auto save is not something I do. Just don’t want to risk my content when a browser or server can stall. So I always manually save.

As for reasons why it’s not working for you, hard to guess could be a server issue, timing out or lack of php resources. Llke your max php memory settings.

Or could be a plugin conflicting with the wordpress auto save.

You can contact your hosting to see if they have any insight
