    Hi there,

sorry that you had trouble but I think it was made clear that this was a beta and was not supposed to be installed on live sites or where you had sensitive data because there’s no way back once the update script has run – so yes a backup was in order, but if the site wasn’t live you wouldn’t have had to worry much about it

which problems did you had installing it?

I realize all the details about the beta. I simply asked where the settings are installed in the backup.

When I installed I got a 500 internal error if I remember correctly. It seems like that happens when installing some new plugins. I have found others to delete that were causing problems, but I can’t figure it out with this one.

Also, when I initally installed it, I got the “fatal error” message.

So, would you know where, in my backup, would the settings containing the feeds would be, so I can replace them on my server?

    Thanks!

    Uhm,

I’m not sure about the error – 500 error is an internal server error, so it doesn’t help much if there’s an error in code triggering that or is a problem on your server/installation

one possibility is perhaps you had both the old and the new plugin active at the same time? the new one should overwrite the previous one in the same directory (of course the day it’s available on www.ads-software.com there’s no need to move files manually)

the new version also requires php 5.3+, but if the update scripts have run, you probably have that – my guess is that perhaps the script timed out (insufficient server resources? php/webserver configuration issues?)

if you have a backup of the database (a mysql dump or an image of your installation if your host provides that), all your settings and posts are still there, just overwrite the database with the previous one and you’d be done – the plugin settings (2.x and 3.x) are all stored using the WordPress settings API in the ‘wp_options’ table. In 2.x they were prefixed with gce_ in 3.x they are prefixed with simple-calendar_

Hope you can sort it out

I was able to get all the settings back. I deactivated all my plugins via FTP, then reactivated them back one by one and the settings were there.

    Thanks for the help!
