When you moved your site did the address change at all? This would have an effect on the counts.

    Hi,

We’re having a similar issue. After about a year we just now changed our url structure from the default WP blogname.com_?p=123 to using the post name blogname.com/blogtitle .

Since then we’ve noticed that all of the share counts are gone. Is there any way to bring them back? It really looks bad and we’d love to show that people do indeed share our posts.

    Thanks,

    David

Yes, the address changed. It is being staged on wpengine before going live. Is there a way to get the counts back?

We also lost our share count when we moved a site to a temporary url. However, we are going to move the site back to the original when the new design is complete. Will counts be restored then? Or is there another way to resolve this?

    Thank you,
    Sarah

Hi Any update on this? It’s hard looking at our old posts that had lots of shares and then seeing that number as 0 now.

When we moved our blog we moved it from an older WP install to a new WP install, so it was a different WPEngine account/server, though the URL is now the same.

We exported blog content from one to the other and I installed a new digg digg plugin on the new one.

If the URL’s have changed, which they have, you cannot get back your shares/likes.

As maineyak stated, if the URL or domain has changed, you cannot get them back.
