lost traffic when moving to new host

  • Can anyone help? Just switched to 1&1 to host my blog. Before with WordPress.com I had upwards of 350 visits a day, now I am down to a fifth of that. Can anyone explain why?

  • If you were with WordPress.com previous, your domain would probably have been something like: myblogtitle.wordpress.com – at a guess?

    Have you now gone self-hosted with your blog and the URL has changed? If so, then all previous people who linked your site wont be able to access it.

    Also, you wont show up on WordPress.com’s searches if it has been deleted
