Lost widgets

After creating a new (static) page on site i noticed that it did not have the right side bar. Apparently when the builder template is in use one cannot have a side bar (beats me why)so I quickly found where to switch from builder to default template in page attributes which gave me back the side bar but since i have lost widgets that were on that side bar as well as in the content. Went to widgets but nowhere can i find them. There are the ones for images.
