This plugin worked like it says but it did not change all of the images in the blog posts – only some. So I have a ton of broken images because they are referencing the .jpg and not the .avif

I even tried regenrate thumbnails and that did not fix the issue.

All of the broken images are the thumnails that are resized. It would be better if it did not automatically delete those images so that at least if it didnt replace them all in the blog posts the old image would still resolve.

Sorry to hear of your experience @charrabennett. Hopefully with a little further troubleshooting from your support topic, we can determine more on this unusual behavior. I suspect that there may me a multi party plugin conflict that’s impacting some of your thumbnail images, in particular if the imaged were cropped via your image src settings or another plugin.

I left some notes on that topic so we can find out more. Let me know if you have any questions on this. Thank you!

Third Party plugin may be the issue – if you want to email me at

support (a) yoursiteneedsme.com I will send you the staging site so you can see it and see what is going on. If you don’t want to do that then let me know so I can delete the staging site.

Thanks for the the update @charrabennett. Unfortunately per WordPress support forum guidelines we’re unable to login to users sites, whether staging or live. Based on this feel free to delete the staging site. Appreciate the offer.

Note that in order to determine a possible third party plugin conflict, I am happy to recreate a similar environment. I have performed some S3 related checks previously however this was prior to AVIF support. If you do wish for me to check a similar environment to your own, feel free to share your Site Health information, which you can share privately if preferred, by using this form. Thank you.

Thanks for letting me know. I did share the site health information already via the form I already submitted.

Perfect, thank you. I’ll set up an environment and perform some checks. I’ll keep you updated from there. Much appreciated.
