Love the plugin, one question

    Hi,

    I think you’ve done a fantastic job with this plugin and the support you provide so thanks for all your efforts.

    One questions I have is that I notice the plugin adds about 10-15 http calls, some of which appear to be tracking and/or reporting to scorecard research and mathtag, etc. I understand that this is probably your bread and butter here, but is there any way for site visitors/owners to opt out of this tracking/reporting to a) improve privacy and b) reduce the impact of the http calls on the site load?

    Hi socialdude.

    Many thanks for looking into this.

    After your post yesterday I reactivated the plugin and checked the repopulated settings:

    Under Question 1 the “Share with all other social media site” is unchecked
    Under Question 3 there is no option to share with all other social media sites, but the icons are set to display in a widget AND after posts.

    After leaving the plugin activate for 24 hours, the additional calls are back under these settings.

    You mention above

    Under question 3, where you have the option to display rectangle icons before or after posts, there is also the addthis-button. If you deselect it then no such requests should be made anymore.

    but under the Ultimate Social Media PLUS plugin this add-this button is not present for deselection (I imagine it is on the Social Media and Share Icons (Ultimate Social Media) version).

    If I remove display icons after posts and only keep the widget icons, after clearing all caches the additional calls still remain.

    If I disable the plugin and clear all caches the calls still remain, and it is only when I disable all plugins that the additional calls stop. Then after I reactivate the plugins the site calls are back to normal 38-45.

    After 4 hours with only the social media icons displayed in widget (nothing after the posts) the calls are back up to 69 again.

    Thanks Barnez. Two points to clarify:

    1.) The share-icon can be de-selected under question 3 in the plugin, see icon on the bottom right: https://screencast.com/t/wfcDsKQN

    2.) You said that you disabled our plugin and the calls remain. Then it cannot be due to our plugin, or?

    Got it.

    1) I disabled the share option on the display rectangular icons and all is well
    2) It’s weird I know, and 99% of the time behaviour continuing after a deactivated plugin would exclude it from being a culprit, but I am using KEYCDN, and even if I purge the site it seems to play havoc with my testing.
