Please complete these steps.
1. Go to Appearance, Editor.
2. On the right side, you should see a bunch of templates. Open header.php.
3. Copy all the code from that file.
4. Create a GitHub Gist and paste the code in it. Then share a link to me so I can examine the code to tell you where to place your banner.

Well, the official ad is not ready yet, it will be agreed to later this week, I’m really just trying to create a placeholder so I can show them exactly where it will go and give them a proper size to make the ad.

Have a recommendation of what size banner I should require from them?

It really does not matter. I marked that banner section of with a class so we should be able to make adjustments if needed. I would not get anything to big though.
