• Hi,

Got myself a small problem on my site. Whenever I write something like this:

    Test
    Testing

The br / isn’t added between the lines so what I get is:

    Test Testing

This worked fine before, guess I added a plugin or hack and then it happened. It’s all across the site, even the articles I wrote when this wasn’t a problem. So guess I removed
from a file in WP 1.5 or something.

Could anyone help me to locate which file it is that has to do with this, and where in the file the problem could be?

Hope this is understandable. Thanks in advance ??

  • What plugins do you have active? Does it go away if you deactivate any of them?

Hmm. I have a fairly unaltered version of WP1.5 running and when I write several sentences followed by two “carrier returns” (for lack of a better term), WP surrounds each with opening and closing paragraph tags, not breaks. I didn’t see anything in there where you can tell it how to format, but I do recall there is a plugin that will do this.

If you have enabled any of the textile or other “editing” plugins, this may be your culprit. As oriecat suggested, try disabling them (one at a time) to find the culprit.

Sometimes plugins can make your site behave in really strange ways — ways that would never lead you ordinarily to think a plugin is at fault. Good luck!

I got like 30 plugins at my site … some of them required hacks to my files … what I am afraid of is that I in one of my hacks has deleted a line more than I should.

So the question is … which file in the WP system control this – so maybe I can to upload a fresh version of that file.

But will check if I have any tekstile plugins activated that I can deactivate, thanks for the tips jonimueller. If anyone got other tips or know which file that control this … please help me out here :-).

Wow, got it … you two guys was right. The problem was that I had activated the plugin Markdown … deactivated it now and it’s puuuurfect!

Whats the point with plugin that just screw up a site? :-).

Thanks a lot guys … this forum and you who use it are such a great resource!
