m3u v m3u8 playlist support

    Good work…

    I am quite confused with online descriptions of various WordPress player plugins, so need help.

    1. Can FV be embedded in blogger.com page, just as for WP ?
    Any helpful links will be appreciated.

    2. Noob here, but it is frustrating to see that big names like JWP (expensive + BW charges + no YouTube support) don’t seem to play my m3u/8 combo playlist URL, or this kind of public IPTV one (both play fine in VLC or smartIPTV chrome extension):

    (Doesn’t play in https://hls-js.netlify.app/demo/ or https://developer-tools.jwplayer.com/stream-tester/ )

    3. Is this an m3u to m3u8 conversion issue your WP plugin might support? (Should be simple.)

    4. Does your player support YouTube https URLs, or some m3u/8 conversion (e.g., streamlink/ liveproxy or VLC conversion of YouTube http URL Network Stream input to Codec Info link (bottom box) saved to a m3u playlist ?)

    By above, I mean YouTube/Vimeo links included in an m3u/8 playlist URL.

    thank you for your interest in using FV Player!

    1.FV Player is to this date WordPress-only player.

    Developing a stand-alone plugin is still one of our big goals for the future but right now we rather focus on maintaining and improving our platform than developing a new plugin.

    2. FV Player works perfectly with m3u8, however it does not support m3u playlists. We had our first request for this feature recently.

    3. The m3u support could be added, it could load and cache these playlists similar to how we process Vimeo albums or YouTube playlists in FV Player Pro. Ideally we would create a proper PHP SDK for these FV Player Pro routines and let people extend it for their own needs.

    I will discuss with my team whether we want to add this feature any time soon.

    For the time being, you would have to build the playlist in FV Player directly using these https://archive.org/download/mjq-1983-montreal-jazz-festival-cbc/01-Introduction.mp3 and similar links.

    4. We do not support this either.

    Maria,

    Your WordPress plug description says you do support YouTube !

    Anyway I am quite surprised that WordPress plugins don’t support m3u which is much more common than m3u8- not to mention that many independent GitHub projects like 4gray use libVLC to support both…

    Anyway I really hope someone do that. Don’t know about direct libVLC support, but m3u to m3u8 (UTF-8 format) should not be challenging at all.

    There is no more Montreal Jazz Festival if I recall- last I attended was a decade ago ! ??

    This certainly will expand your market in a big way….mostly it is the unarticulated needs of customers than stated ones ( in the current narrow market) that differentiate winners.
